Resenha: Watch GoT!

In a freer way, we will talk about one of the most iconic series of the 21st century.

What is important to mention about the series, in general, are some of its characters, the stage of the plot and the genius of its script. This series, exclusive to HBO, was televised between 2011-2019. With almost a decade of duration, it has created a very large fan base. Those involved, vibrated and cried, confused life with art; and experienced what we call Cartase. Game of thrones, was based on the collection of books: "A Song of Ice and Fire", by George RR Martin. The series does not strictly follow the books, as they are not even finished. Overall, it's an adaptation of an epic universe.

No wonder, from the fifth season, the series drops in quality. Even with a huge budget, after gaining credibility (form), the dialogues, a strong point, were diluted (content). The unfolding of several characters were lost, and the eighth season, conclusion, just rectified that.

Even so, the characters are unique in their characteristics. My favorites, Tyrion and Samwell; join Cercei, Jaime, Bran, Jon, Arya, Sansa, Daenerys and others for the epic. We don't have time here to delve deeper, but each of them has deep and striking characteristics. These belong somewhere (Westeros, Essos - North, South), as maps and the great houses, coats of arms, are part of the whole context.

And then the genius of George RR Martin, who, like Tolkien and Lewis, dared to create. He attached great characters, on a solid stage. But, as incredible as it is, the series cannot scale the written works, as there are many more nuances, seen only in the imagination. In the last year, the series, also by HBO, "A Casa do Dragão", 2022, was released, in order to further explore the drama, complementing the original in its narrative.

However, it is worth mitigating some points, for those who start watching. Even with all the aesthetics, Image, music, acting, construction, the series excessively abuses violence and vulgarity, in countless moments. "Gratuitous" sex acts, and gruesome deaths, offend all viewers. So we are left, with unpredictability, with politics, religion, love, honor and the journey. These are bigger themes; which you will find in the best series I watched: Game of Thrones!
